NEW DELHI, OCT. 13. Air France will operate direct daily flights to Paris from Delhi and Mumbai from this month-end, increasing the weekly flights to 14 and the passenger capacity by about 45 per cent. With the busy tourist season beginning from October-end, Air France will have 14 direct flights in a week to Paris from Delhi and Mumbai with the schedule continuing till March 31, 2005. Talking to reporters here today, Jean Louis Pinson, Executive Vice President of Air France for Asia Pacific, said while the Delhi-Paris sector would be serviced by a Boeing 747 jumbo jet, Mumbai-Paris would be operated by Airbus A-340 aircraft during the winter schedule. He said Air France was looking at exploring other Indian cities, preferably opening new gateways in southern India and taking its flights to Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore in the near future. "We are confident about the potential of the Indian market and plan to have talks with the Civil Aviation Ministry next month to look at the possibility of liberal bilaterals with India," he said. Air France had already increased the frequency of flights to France from Hong Kong, Vietnam, China and Japan and now India was `very much' on the cards for linking more Indian cities with Paris.
