Plea for development of Tumkur
By Our Staff Correspondent
TUMKUR,
OCT. 13.
N.R. Jagadish, chairman and managing director of Siddaganga Oil Extractions Ltd., on Wednesday said Tumkur had remained backward despite its strategic location and resources.
Addressing presspersons here, Mr. Jagadish said Tumkur city was surrounded by vast stretches of barren land. Infosys, which was facing constraints for expansion in Bangalore, could be given 500 acres of land here, he said. He urged political leaders in the district to take the initiative in this matter.
Mr. Jagadish noted that Tumkur was connected to Bangalore by a four-lane highway and a railway line.
A four-lane road to the proposed international airport at Devanahalli via Dobbspet was nearing completion.
