By Our Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI,
OCT. 13.
Five Indian naval ships have departed on a 45-day visit to several South-East Asian nations as part of its diplomacy.
The group will split into two and visit Pusan (South Korea), Tokyo, Manila, Ho Chi Minh City and Jakarta. This is the region where the Indian Navy has conducted extensive and regular naval cooperation programmes after emerging from isolation in the Nineties, owing to its interest in maritime security in the region.
Goodwill trip
Official sources said the Indian Navy emphasised on improving mutual understanding and the trip would provide the idealplatform for greater professional interaction. The visit would also spread goodwill among India's maritime neighbours.
