By Our Special Correspondent

TIRUPATI. Oct. 13. Panchayat raj teachers in the State under the banner of the AP Progressive Recognised Teachers' Union is planning to launch an agitation programme in pursuance of its demands.

According to N. Lingaiah, general secretary of the Chittoor district unit of the union, panchayat raj teachers in the State formed themselves into a joint action committee called "Upadhyaya Sanghala Porata Samithi'' (USPS) under which massive rallies and dharnas would be held in all district headquarters on October 27 to bring pressure on the State Government to concede their nine-point charter of demands and take immediate steps to redress their long-pending grievances.

One lakh panchayat raj teachers would converge on Secretariat on November 8 in response to the `Chalo Hyderabad' call being given by the USPS for a massive picketing.
