HYDERABAD, OCT. 13. The People's War has made it clear that it will oppose the policies adopted by the Samajwadi Party chief, Mulayam Singh Yadav, the Rashtriya Janata Dal president, Lalu Prasad, and the Bahujan Samaj Party leaders -- Mayawati and Kanshiram. The PW State secretary, Ramakrishna, the CPI-ML (Janashakti) State committee member, Riyaz, on Wednesday made it clear that they did not welcome the actions of the SP, RJD and BSP leaders who claimed to be champions of downtrodden sections.
`Praja darbar'
Ramakrishna, while reacting to a question posed by a woman advocate at a meeting organised by the Coordination Committee of the SC, ST, BC and Minorities at Manjeera, the State-owned guest house, said the `so-called leaders' of national parties were exploiting the weaker sections. On the second day of their stay at the guesthouse here ahead of the peace talks with the Government on Friday, the PW and Janashakti leaders interacted with representatives of over 70 SC, ST, BC and minorities organisations in what a leader described as `praja darbar.' The naxal leaders were flooded with representations from various organisations. They personally accepted all representations and promised to take up the issues during the upcoming talks. People vied with one another to get photographed with the top brass of the naxal outfits. Ramakrishna said they would continue to target "the fascist and communal forces'' in the country and reiterated their decision to "physically eliminate'' the forces which were out to disturb communal harmony and perpetrated atrocities against the Dalits. Decrying the use of television to propagate religion, Ramakrishna accused the Government of being non-secular and supporting only Hindu religion.
Backs quota
He said that the PW would take up the issue of distribution of surplus land to the poor, implementation of quota for the weaker sections and minorities besides seeking stern action against those involved in massacre of Dalits. The Janashakti leader supported quota for weaker sections in the private sector also. The PW emissary, Gadar, Kalyan Rao and the Andhra-Orissa Border special zone committee commander, Sudhakar, were present.
