TN declared winner

CHENNAI, OCT. 13. Tamil Nadu beat Karnataka by seven wickets on the final day of the South Zone senior women's cricket championship at the SRMC ground on Wednesday.

With eight points overall, Tamil Nadu forced a three-way tie with Karnataka and AP. However on better run-rate, calculated on the basis of the scores of the previous matches, Tamil Nadu was declared the winner of the Zone. Karnataka was placed second. Andhra, which had beaten Kerala today by ten wickets, took the third spot.

For the National championship proper, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka will represent the South Zone.

The scores: Karnataka 76 for six in 33 overs lost to Tamil Nadu 77 for three.

Kerala 48 for nine (B.R. Suvarna Laxmi four for 13) lost to Andhra Pradesh 49 for no loss.
