NEW DELHI, OCT. 13. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore's chances of bettering his Athens feat in the Beijing Olympics received a shot in the arm with the ace marksman all set to striking a deal with his coach Russel Mark. ``I can't say that we have struck the deal. But the negotiation has been going on for quite some time and we are on the verge of giving it a final shape. Mark has verbally committed to train me and I'm happy we'll be working together again,'' Rathore said. The Olympic silver medallist was negotiating with Mark to retain him at a time when the Australian was much in demand by the Gulf countries, especially Kuwait. Rathore trained with Mark for eight months prior to the Athens Olympic Games where the Army Major went on to win independent India's first individual silver medal in the double trap event. Despite lucrative offers from the Gulf countries, Mark offered his coaching first to Rathore whom he found a good student. Mark had won the double trap gold at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and the silver at the 2000 Sydney Games. UNI
