KANNUR, OCT. 13. Madras stormed into the pre-quarterfinals of the South Zone inter-University football championship, thrashing Kerala Agricultural 8-0. Karunakaran scored four goals, including a hat-trick, for Madras. In another third round encounter, Bharathidasan scored a 7-1 victory over Karnataka, thanks to a hat-trick from Swarnanakumar. Also through to the pre-quarterfinals are host Kannur, Kuvempu, MG, Osmania, Pondicherry and MS, Tirunelveli.
