Ranil wants peace talks to resume
CHENNAI,
OCT. 13.
The former Sri Lankan Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe, tonight said he wanted the peace talks between Colombo and the LTTE to resume at the earliest.
``Otherwise the peace process will deteriorate'', he told reporters at the airport.
He said during his talks with the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh recently, he had informed him about the steps initiated to resume the peace process.
Asked whether Sri Lanka opposed the Sethu Samudram project, he said his country wanted both the Sethu Samudram project and a land bridge between Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka to come up.
``There is no change in our stand,'' he said.
