Traffic curbs from tomorrow

VIJAYAWADA, OCT. 13. With a large number of pilgrims expected to throng the city during the Sarannavaratrulu to have a darshan of Goddess Kanakadurga, the city police is making elaborate arrangements to prevent traffic snarls during the Dasara festival starting from October 15.

Accordingly, the vehicular traffic coming from Hyderabad and proceeding towards Eluru, Guntur and Machilipatnam will be diverted through Gollapudi bypass road, Sitara centre, Milk Project, Chittinagar Centre, Fraserpet bridge, Kedareswarapet FCI godowns, Cement Factory gate, Budameru bridge, Government Press, Satyanarayanapuram railway colony gate, Rokallapalem Bose statue, Kothavantena centre, Chittigunta center, CRR college, Machavaram down, Gunadala and Benz Circle. Similarly, the vehicles coming from Eluru, Guntur and Machilipatnam and proceeding towards Hyderabad will be diverted from Varadhi, Krishnalanka fire station, Police Control Room, Prakasam statue, Low Bridge, Bose statue, Gaddabomma Centre, Kaleswara Rao Market, Satkar hotel, BRP road, Bodemma hotel, Royal hotel, King hotel center, Ganapatirao road, VG Chowk, Vagu Centre, Chittinagar, Sitara Centre and Gollapudi bypass road.

Buses to be diverted

The traffic coming from Tadepalli would be diverted through Varadhi on Teppotsavam day while the movement of vehicular traffic would be stopped from 2 p.m. on October 22. Special traffic arrangements would be put in place at Tadepalli, Sitammavari padalu, Vinayaka temple center, Boddubomma center, Ashok Pillar, Kummaripalem center on the same day.

The RTC and private buses coming from Hyderabad would be diverted from Gollapudi bypass road, Sitara center, milk project, Chittinagar, VG Chowk, Ganapatirao road, King hotel, Panja center, railway goods shed, Bose statue, low bridge, Prakasam statue, police control room, city bus terminal and Krishnalanka police station to reach Pandit Nehru bus station.

Parking facilities

Special parking arrangements would be made at headwater works, Vijayeswara Swamy temple, Sitammavari padalu, Kummaripalem, Bhavanipuram lorry stand, canal road (from Vinayaka temple to Boddubomma center), irrigation guesthouse (for VIPs and VVIPs) and Ashoka pillar.
