HYDERABAD, OCT. 13. A complaint against the Roads and Buildings Minister, Jakkampudi Rammohan Rao, that he was allegedly luring voters by distributing money led to registration of case against his party nominee in Asifnagar, D. Nagender, on Tuesday for holding a meeting even after expiry of campaign time.
Complaint lodged
The Telugu Desam Somajiguda corporator, M. Laxminarayanamma, lodged a complaint stating that the Minister, the contestant and about 300 Congress workers were distributing money to voters near Anjaneya temple at M.S. Maktha on Tuesday night. "Within 20 minutes of receiving the complaint we rushed to the spot only to find Mr. Nagender holding a meeting with a group of persons," said the Saifabad Inspector, S. Chaturvedi. Neither the Minister was there, nor any cash was found at the spot as alleged by the corporator, the Inspector explained. Asked about the meeting, Mr. Nagender told the police that he was only instructing his election agents about the ensuing polling.
