BANGALORE, OCT. 13. The body of a 30-year-old woman was found in a drain near a Sulabh toilet at Jalahalli Cross in Peenya Police Station limits on Wednesday. The police said the victim, who was wearing a salwar-kameez, was strangled to death. The police found a plastic bag containing children's wear and vegetables. The police said a gang had assaulted the victim on Tuesday and dropped her body in the drain today.
Robbed
A four-member gang kidnapped two persons and robbed them of their ornaments and mobile phones in separate incidents reported in Ashok Nagar Police Station limits on Tuesday. Sujay, working with a private company and a resident of Brindavan Layout, who was riding a motorcycle, was waylaid by the gang near Richmond Town. He was taken near a burial ground on Hosur Road, assaulted, and robbed of his gold chain and a mobile phone worth Rs. 27,000. Poosan, a native of West Bengal, was robbed in a similar fashion. He was taken to a nearby burial ground meant for Christians on Hosur Road and was assaulted. The gang, on seeing the police ran away by snatching Poosan's gold ring and a lighter, all worth Rs. 7,000. The Victoria Hospital police have taken up a case.
House burgled
A house of a doctor was burgled in Kamakshipalya Police Station limits on Tuesday. It is said that the burgled broke into the house through a door on the first floor of the house in Astagrama Layout. About Rs. 30,000 in cash and gold jewellery worth Rs. 70,000 were stolen, the police said. According to the Kashi Reddy and his wife, Saraswati Reddy, they had left the house in the morning. While Dr. Kashi had gone to the office of Accountant General, his wife had gone for Pulse Polio programme.
