Tanvir brought to city

BANGALORE, OCT. 13. The K.G. Halli police on Tuesday night brought Tanvir from the Mysore Central Jail to the city. The 11th Additional City Metropolitan Magistrate, Basavaraju, had issued a warrant against him in two cases of extortion and a case of illegal possession of arms. The cases, the police said, related to extortion and kidnapping of an oil businessman, Arif. Tanvir had taken a ransom of Rs. 50,000 from the businessman, the police said.

Tanvir and a few of his associates were arrested by a police team led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Shivaram, on May 8. He was wanted in 40 criminal cases.
