Somnath's initiative

Sir, — The Lok Sabha Speaker, Somanath Chatterjee, has decided to convene a meeting under the chairmanship of Bhairon Singh Shekhawat to ensure the smooth functioning of Parliament in the coming session. He feels eliciting the public's view is the best way to point out defects in the functioning of Parliament. Academicians, journalists, constitutional experts, social activists and student representatives should be asked for their views.
