A big loss

Sir, — The passing away of Jacques Derrida (Oct. 14) is a big loss to the field of language studies. His theory of deconstruction is said to have driven many language scholars mad initially; only later was it realised that Derrida is comprehensible. It is the "derridians" in academia who are incomprehensible.

P.S. Prabha,
Hyderabad
