NEW DELHI, OCT 14. Delhi's Principal Secretary (Finance), P.K. Tripathi, was today transferred to the Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry in the rank of Joint Secretary. The Principle Secretary (Home), R. Narayanswami, will hold the additional charge of Principal Secretary (Finance) till further arrangements. Interestingly, Mr. Tripathi was promoted and posted as the Principal Secretary (Finance) on August 1 but his sudden transfer has upset calculations of the Delhi Government on posting of officials. It is finding it extremely difficult to find a replacement for Mr. Tripathi as the present set of senior officials who could be considered for the posting at this level are not in the "likeable list'' of the Chief Minister, Sheila Dikshit, and the Chief Secretary, S. Reghunathan. It is learnt that some senior IAS officials are likely to join the Delhi Government in the coming days and that could effect changes at the top level in various Departments. Although the name of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi Commissioner, Rakesh Metha, was being mentioned for the post of Principal Secretary (Finance), but it is understood that the Chief Minister is having second thoughts on the issue as the Union Home Ministry will take its time to issue any such orders. It is understood that Mr. Mehta, who is due for deputation posting, is also being considered for posting as Chief Secretary of Goa in place of the present incumbent, D. S. Negi, who is poised to return to Delhi.
