KURNOOL, OCT. 14. The Agriculture Minister, N. Raghuveera Reddy, has said the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) has come forward to fund processing units costing Rs. 300 crores in the State. An amount of Rs. 200 crores has been earmarked for setting up fruit and vegetable processing units and Rs. 100 crores for milk processing units. The NDDB has offered to finance at the rate of 5 per cent interest. The Konkan Railways was setting up a cold storage facility with Rs. 100 crores in Hyderabad. The infrastructure would help develop horticulture and dairy in the State. On the crisis of tomato farmers in the Pathikonda area of Kurnool district, he said the Government was planning to help farmers by offering cold storage facility and processing unit, the Minister said.
