HYDERABAD, OCT. 14. The TDP has pooh-poohed the Congress claims on assistance extended to farmers in the State, and has asked the Government to publish a report with details of what it had done to alleviate farmers' miseries. At a press conference here, party spokesperson, Ummareddy Venkateswarlu, referred to the `tall claims' of the Minister for Agriculture, N. Raghuveera Reddy, made at a meeting on Wednesday. He asked the Congress Government to come out with details of how many farmers had committed suicide and for what reason, how much of financial help the Government had extended and what it was doing to solve farmers' problems. He said more farmers had ended their lives in the five months of the Congress rule than in the nine-year TDP regime. Asserting that the TDP had done everything to help farmers, he said it was the Congress which had made promises that were yet to be fulfilled.
