Ashok stays in lead

NOIDA, OCT. 14. There seems no stopping Ashok Kumar. The leader of the Amby Valley PGA Tour reproduced his first-round 67 to maintain his overnight one-stroke lead in the ONGC Noida Open golf tournament at the Noida golf course here on Thursday.

Bangalore's S. Madhaiah shot the day's best 66 to take the second spot, a stroke ahead of Ali Sher.

The cut came at eight-over 152, leaving 53 professionals and seven amateurs in the fray for the last two days.

The scores: Ashok Kumar (67, 67) 134; S. Madhaiah (69, 66) 135; Ali Sher (70, 69) 139; Vijay Kumar (73, 67), Gurbaaz Mann (71, 69), Mukesh Kumar (69, 71) and Shiv Kapur (68, 72) 140; Gaurav Ghei (70,71), Naman Dawar (70, 71), Digvijay Singh (69, 72), Ranjit Singh (68, 73) and Jasjeet Singh (74, 67) 141.
