Mainly clear sky forecast

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, OCT. 14.OCT. 14.OCT. The weatherman has forecast a chilly morning and a mainly clear sky throughout the day on Friday. The maximum and minimum temperatures would hover around 29 and 18 degree Celsius respectively.

On Thursday, Safdarjung recorded a maximum temperature of 28 and a minimum temperature of 17.5 degree Celsius respectively, while Palam recorded a maximum temperature of 26.9 and minimum temperature of 17.8 degree Celsius respectively.

The maximum relative humidity at Safdarjung stood at 90 per cent and the minimum 45 per cent. Palam recorded a maximum humidity of 90 per cent and a minimum of 49 per cent.

Theft charge

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, OCT. 14.OCT. 14.OCT. Four persons, who allegedly committed theft in trains, have been arrested by the Old Delhi railway station police of the Crime Branch.

According to the police, they recently received complaints from train passengers alleging that their belongings had been stolen. Subsequently, the police arrested Shamsuddin, Riyazuddin, Rihan and Waseem, from whom they recovered some stolen articles. During interrogation, they confessed to their involvement in some of the cases and disclosed that they worked for a criminal named Asraf. The police said the four were previously involved in cases registered at Shakarpur police station in East Delhi.

Alleged graft

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, OCT. 14.OCT. 14.OCT. A lower divisional clerk working at the office of Preet Vihar Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in East Delhi has been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Branch for allegedly demanding bribe for issuing a voter certificate.

The Anti-Corruption Branch received a complaint from Om Prakash, a resident of Khichripur village, alleging that B.S. Bhati, a lower divisional clerk, was demanding Rs. 200 for a voter certificate.

Acting on the complaint, the Anti-Corruption sleuths laid a trap and arrested him while he was accepting the bribe. Further investigations are on.

Financial aid

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, OCT. 14.OCT. 14.OCT. The vice-chairperson of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), Tajdar Babar, distributed cheques of financial assistance to 14 widows and destitutes at a function here on Wednesday. Under the Directorate of Social Welfare's scheme, financial assistance is provided to widows in the age group of 18 to 45 years.
