BANGALORE, OCT. 14. A large section of the 120 staff employed at the Raj Bhavan staged a protest in front of the main gates on Thursday. Their complaint was that for the past three days they were refused entry through the main gate on Raj Bhavan Road and made to use the rear gate near the Legislators Home. "It is a long detour for us and we may be coming late to duty as a result,'' some of the employees said. Inquiries with the security officers at the Raj Bhavan revealed that the Chief Secretary, K.K. Misra, had issued directions that the staff should use the rear gate for security reasons. The rules were that the main gates were meant to be used by Raj Bhavan guests, VIPs and the Chief Minister, the Deputy Chief Minister and senior government officials.
