BANGALORE, OCT. 14. A police team on Thursday brought to the city Selva Kumar, a sepoy and the main accused in the murder of the 55-year-old retired subedar, Om Prakash. Selva Kumar, who was reportedly at large, surrendered before the police at Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu, the police said. On September 25, Om Prakash had left his house in the Bharatinagar Police Station limits and had gone missing. Om Prakash's son lodged a complaint accusing Selva Kumar of kidnapping his father. The police arrested Venkataraghavan and Joseph Francis in this connection. After their arrest, the police had said that the two and Selva Kumar had lured the subedar into giving them Rs. 1.8 lakhs by promising him a higher rate of interest and then murdered him. While taking the subedar's body in a gunny bag, the accused had reportedly cut his head and dumped it in a manhole. They threw the body in the Vrishabavati, the police had said. The body was found in a village near Bidadi.
