DHARMAPURI, OCT.15 . The State Government has sanctioned an estimated outlay of Rs.4.39 crores for the socio economic development of the district, the Collector, Ashish Vachhani, said here today. He said that a sum of Rs.60 lakhs had been sanctioned for construction of doctors' quarters at Kambainallur, Koothupadi, Jaggasamudiram, Pandahalli, Indur, Chinnankuppam, V. Mallapuram, Belrampatti, Panchapalli, Ramiyanahalli, Papparapatti and Nagadasampatti.
Roads improvement
Mr. Vachhani said that an estimate of Rs.3.25 crores had been allocated for improvement of Highway and Panchayat roads in the district. Out of the total outlay a sum of Rs.1.75 crores would be executed by the Highways Department largely covering roads in Dharmapuri, Morapur, Kadathur, Bommidi and Harur. The remaining amount would be executed by the respective panchayats in eight panchayat unions for the improvement of 27 roads.
He said that an outlay of Rs.19 lakhs had been allotted for improvement of drinking water supply at Ilakiampatti, Semmandakuppam, Tokkubodhanahalli, Indur, Erapaiyanahalli, Perumbalai, Ajjanahalli, Thithiyopanahalli, Kedhureddipatti, Veppilaipatti, Kalikottai and Sowlukottai. An estimate of Rs.33 lakhs had also been allotted for desilting of 17 lakes in the district, he said.
