ERODE, OCT.15 .Heavy rain lashed Bhavani and its surroundings last night. The rain, which was accompanied by lightning and thunder, damaged television sets in Dharapuram area. I The top portion of the building was also damaged. The electricity supply was affected in Dharapuram area. In Gobichettipalayam, due to heavy rain the Keeripallam odai become flooded and the water was overflowing on the causeway affecting traffic for more than three hours. Bhavani recorded 79 mm of rainfall, Perundurai 55 mm, Gobichettipalayam 45 mm, Moolanure 40 mm, Bhavanisagar 36 mm, Dharapuram 33 mm, Sathy 22 mm, Kangeyam 20 mm and Erode 16 mm.
