PONDICHERRY, OCT. 15. Universities should emulate the `Bombay model', where academic and research programmes were geared to the needs of industry, said K. Anji Reddy, founder Chairman of Dr Reddy's Laboratories, Hyderabad, while inaugurating an industry-institute interface here. He called upon the students to do their projects in industry and develop processes that could help them get attuned to emerging requirements. Dr Reddy suggested that the universities could emulate the `Bombay model' and tune their programmes to cater to research needs of the industry as was being done in Bombay University. This would facilitate employability of students. The three-day programme has been organised by the School of Management in Pondicherry University.
