Minor fire at Tirumala temple

TIRUPATI. Oct. 15. A fire broke out in the inner precincts of the hill temple of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala today even as the Navarathri Brahmothsavam entered the second day.
Sources said a burning wick fell on a bunch of used wicks dumped in a corner of the temple. A heavy curtain hanging nearby also caught fire. The fire was put out immediately by the alert temple staff. There was no damage to the temple and no one was injured.
