Peace initiative hailed

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, OCT.15. The Andhra Pradesh and Orissa zonal unit of Jamaat-e-Islami has welcomed the talks between the Government and the People's War.

In a statement issued here on Friday, Syed Abdul Basit Anwar, said the talks should not be restricted to peace only but cover all aspects of economic, social and political injustice to the large majority of the dalits and minorities who still suffered. He hoped that both sides would sincerely strive for undoing the injustice and evolve a formula within the constitutional framework to establish a welfare State.
