Governor's move unprecedented, says CPI(M)
By Our Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI,
OCT. 15.
The CPI(M) today described as "unprecedented" the move by the Maharashtra Governor, Mohammed Fazal, asking political parties to submit information on pre-poll alliances.
Objecting to the move on the ground that it does not come under the purview of the Governor's functions, the party said: "The Governor has no business to seek such information before the declaration of results."
The party's Polit Bureau in a statement said the Governor's role, whatever it be, would be determined after the counting and declaration of results. The President should take note of this and raise it with the Governor.
