Boje, Gibbs' response forwarded to Indian High Commission
DURBAN,
OCT. 15.
The South African cricket board has forwarded the Delhi Police questionnaire filled by `tainted' players Herschelle Gibbs and Nicky Boje to the Indian High Commission in Pretoria.
Both the cricketers were asked by the police, probing the match fixing scandal during South Africa's 2000 tour of India, to respond to the questions in connection with their alleged involvement.
The United Cricket Board (UCB) CEO, Gerald Majola, said the Board had forwarded the players' responses to the Indian High Commission.
Mr. Majola reiterated that the UCB would fully cooperate with the police but wanted clear assurance that the players will not be detained when South Africa reaches India for a Test series next month. He also hoped that Delhi Police would give a quick response.
Earlier, the UCB had complained of no response from the investigating officers.
