Central Excise to hold fast track disposal camps

TIRUPATI. Oct 15. The Government of India has launched an extraordinary scheme for a quick adjudication of cases of technical nature on Service Tax issues through its `fast track disposal camps'.

According to a Government release, the scheme aimed to speedily dispose of service tax cases which involved only a penalty. With a view to dispose of a few such cases pending with the Assistant/Deputy Commissioners of Central Excise, Cuddapah, Kurnool and Anantapur divisions would hold special camps on the following dates to hear and decide cases for which show-cause notices were already served on the concerned.

Cuddapah division: Proddatur: October 15 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Kurnool division: October 15 between 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Anantapur division: Hindupur on October 15, Tadipatri on October 18 and Guntakal on October 26 between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The department has already completed a camp or two each in all the three divisions.
