Tirupati
By Our Staff Reporter
TIRUPATI, OCT. 15. Cracking the whip on six unrecognised junior colleges functioning illegally in the district, the Intermediate Board has raided their premises and seized records. The colleges are Sarada Junior College (Pakala), Nagarjuna Junior College and NGR Junior College (Madanapalle), Bhoopal Junior College, Vigneswara Junior College and Masters Junior College (all in Tirupati). NGR College was given permission to function in the highly backward Thamballapalle, but it had shifted to Madanapalle allegedly without an approval from the Board. The Regional Intermediate Officer, K.Jeevan Krishna, said that action would be initiated against the colleges as per the Board of Intermediate Malpratices Act, 1997. The affected students would be taken by other colleges to protect their academic year, he added.
