VIJAYAWADA, OCT. 15. Wholesale traders have come to an agreement with mutha workers of four different associations over working at the newly-constructed Gollapudi wholesale market and wage enhancement. Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Gaddam Subba Rao, president, Vijayawada Chamber of Commerce said the traders had agreed for mutha workers from the city to work in the wholesale complex with the Gollapudi mutha workers. It was agreed that mutha workers allowed to work at the wholesale complex should be issued identity cards.
Increase in wages
The wages for mutha workers involved in loading, unloading, weighing, packing and unpacking had been fixed. Wages were enhanced by 33 to 100 per cent on the basis of the type of work, Mr. Subba Rao said. With this agreement, the wholesale shops would be shifted soon from the congested One-Town area to the spacious Gollapudi complex.
