Aishwarya shocks Selvi

CHENNAI, OCT. 15. Unseeded N. Aishwarya (YMIA-Mylapore) shocked the top-seeded N. Arul Selvi of Indian Bank 10-12, 3-11, 9-11, 11-7, 14-12, 12-10, 11-7 in the women's pre-quarterfinals of the Tamil Nadu State-ranking table tennis tournament at Medimix Chandra Academy, D.G. Vaishnav College, Arumbakkam, on Friday. Aishwarya's run, however, did not last long as he lost to Swetha Khatri of Medimix Chandra Academy in the quarterfinals.

Second seed M. Aparna (Medimix Chandra Academy) lost to A.V. Nivedita (Indian Bank) in six games in the women's quarterfinals. In the men's second round, Chandrasekar of Lord's TT Academy defeated R. Ramesh Babu (Indian Bank), the third seed, in four games.
