VIRGINIA WATER, OCT. 15. World No. 1, Vijay Singh lost to German Bernhard Langer at the first extra hole when the rain-delayed World Match Play Championship first round resumed at Wentworth on Friday.
Fiji's Singh recovered from three down with four holes remaining to send the match into sudden death but he bogeyed the first hole to send Europe's Ryder Cup captain through to a second-round match against Spain's Miguel Angel Jimenez.
