MAHABUBNAGAR, OCT. 15 . The State Commission for SCs and STs, headed by Justice Punnaiah, which began a two-day visit to the district on Friday, has received petitions from several organisations attempting to bring to its notice attacks on dalits and atrocities against dalit women. Besides the practice of untouchability, the dalit organizations also drew the commission's attention to the two-glass system prevailing in rural areas. The State vice-president of MRPS, Eeta Balakistaiah, complained to the commission that there was inordinate delay in bringing justice to victims. He said efforts by the authorities to contain the two-glass system were inadequate. The district president of the SC, ST employees association, G. Naganna, petitioned the commission saying reservations were not being implemented in certain Government departments.
