SANGAREDDY, OCT. 15. A Central team would visit drought-affected villages under the Siddipet revenue division of Medak district on October 17. The team would try to estimate the extent of crop loss and the severity of drinking water shortage in villages. District Collector Anil Kumar Singhal has already visited these villages along with the revenue officials to review works undertaken so far under different schemes.

The Central team will first arrive at Vantimamidi village in the afternoon and later visit Mulugu to estimate the damage to the maize crop. They will interact with the farmers here. In Gangaram village of Vargal mandal, the team is expected to visit the feeder channel and also review the implementation of the Food for Work programme. They will then proceed to Mundrajpalli, Gajwel, Mangole, Lakdaram crossroads and Ponnala villages.

At the end of the day, the team members will reach the RDO office at Siddipet. There will be a slide show on the drought situation in Medak district and interaction with district officials. Later, they will proceed to Karimnagar.
