`Technical snag forced emergency landing'

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, OCT. 15. The Air India (AI 943) flight took off for Abu Dhabi from the International Airport here at 11. 25 p.m. on Thursday. It was forced to make a landing under "full emergency measures" at around 12.10 a.m. on Friday after the cockpit crew reported a "technical snag" on one of the wings. The rear tyre burst while the aircraft was making a touchdown, Air India officials at the airport told The Hindu .

The flight arrived here from Kozhikode at 10.25 p.m. The snag was in the "flap" of one of the wings.
