Temperature

TIRUCHI, OCT. 15 . The city today registered a maximum temperature of 31.0 degree Celsius and a minimum of 24.0 degree Celsius.

College closed

The Government Law College in Tiruchi was closed indefinitely from today in the wake of student unrest. A section of students have been demanding transfer from the college here to Chennai Law College. The students submitted a memorandum to the Collector, V. Pandian, and tried stage a road roko near the TVS Tollgate.

AIR programme

The Tiruchi station of the All-India Radio will broadcast a programme on verses of Holy Quran for the month of Ramzan from October 16 to November 14. An AIR release said the programme would be broadcast daily at 6.10 a.m. Moulvi S. M. Mohamed Meeran would present the programme from October 16 to 25, Moulvi M. Mohamed Faseem from October 26 to November 4 and Moulvi N. M. Hasan Mohamed from November 5 to 14, the release added.

Mettur level

The level in the Mettur reservoir stood at 80.96 feet today. The inflow was 18,473 cusecs and the discharge 14,009 cusecs.
