BANGALORE, OCT. 15. The rain on Friday afternoon may have given Bangaloreans some respite from the heat, but it also inconvenienced people in some areas, especially in the eastern part of the city. The intermittent showers became a downpour towards late evening in some parts of the city, and low-lying areas were inundated. In K.R. Garden, near HAL, and on Indiranagar 5th Main road, water entered some houses, according to officials of the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) control room. Rescue teams were sent. A tree fell on a BMTC (Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation) bus at the bus depot near the Koramangala water tank. No one was injured in the incident. A tree was uprooted near St. John's Medical College Hospital on Hosur Road. Because of the downpour, water was pouring out of manholes.
