BELLARY, OCT. 16. A two-day district-level "Kalaprtibhotsava" will be held at Dr. Joladarashi Doddanagowda Rangamandir here from October 26.

The programme has been organised by the Department of Kannada and Culture with an aim to identify the talent among children and youth, said Chornur Kotrappa, Assistant Director of the department. Competitions would be held in the field of painting, music — Carnatic and Hindusthani (vocal and instrumental), classical dance, and folk songs, he added.

Children between the ages of eight and 13 could participate in the "Bala prathibe" competitions.

Those interested can send their applications, through the head of their educational institutions, with age proof, by October 25. Winners would be selected to participate in the divisional-level competitions.

The department has also organised a rangoli competition for girls over 15 years. The competition will be held at the cultural complex on Anantpur Road on October 27, Mr. Kotrappa said.
