Advisory council for SSIs suggested
By Our Special Correspondent
VISAKHAPATNAM,
OCT. 16.
The setting up of an advisory council, comprising successful industrialists, with the Chief Secretary as its member-secretary, has been suggested for developing the small-scale industry (SSI) sector by the Federation of AP Industries (FAPI).
Making this suggestion at a media conference here on Saturday, the FAPI president, B.V. Rama Rao, said that unless SSIs were launched in large numbers and run efficiently, it would be difficult to solve the unemployment problem.
Unemployment
With the major industries turning high-tech and less and less labour-intensive, joblessness among the youth was increasing by leaps and bounds, he said and feared that the educated unemployed would be forced to embrace extremism.
