HYDERABAD, OCT. 16. The State Cabinet has decided to promulgate an ordinance introducing reservation for BCs and women in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporations. At a meeting here on Saturday, it was decided to issue another ordinance disqualifying candidates with more than two children from contesting the Mayoral elections in Hyderabad. The Cabinet also decided to confer financial powers on the mayors through an ordinance soon. Another decision was to increase the strength of the TTD Executive Board to 15 from the present 13 by including the Chairman of the Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) and the Principal Secretary of the Endowments Department.
Land for bus stand
The Cabinet decided to allot 75 cents of land for a bus stand in Kaligiri of Nellore mandal and 84 cents for a TTD kalyanamandapam free of cost in Kavali. Bethany Christian Hospital of Bakkanapalli in Visakhapatnam district was asked to buy five acres of land it sought for a 100-bed hospital at the rate of Rs.6.5 lakh per acre and the authorities of Don Bosco School of Balighattam in Narsipatnam, one acre at Rs.50,000. Lakkireddi Bal Reddy Charitable Trust of Mylavaram in Krishna district, which sought 7.19 acres for establishing an engineering college, was asked to pay Rs.3 lakh an acre.
