HYDERABAD, OCT. 16. The State BJP president, N. Indrasena Reddy, today said there was no clarity in the State Government's stand on naxalism and wondered how far it could go in engaging the Left extremist groups in talks. At a press conference, the BJP leader alleged that the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, and his Ministers were speaking in different voices over the issue. There was no coherent line of thought. "We are observing the talks keenly and will formulate a comprehensive view in our executive meeting scheduled for October 24 and 25." He said the party's Rythanga Porata Committee had visited several drought-hit districts to study the problems faced by farmers. It found that though the Government claimed to adopt pro-farmer policies, no help was reaching them. "The helpline has become a helpless line," as seen by the continuing suicides.
