Rain likely

The sky will be generally cloudy on Sunday and a spell of rain or thundershowers is likely, according to the weather forecast.

On Saturday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 26.4 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 18.9 degrees Celsius. It received a "trace" of rainfall. The relative humidity was 77 per cent.

At the airport, the maximum temperature was 26.8 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 18.8 degrees Celsius. It received 0.7 mm of rainfall. The relative humidity was 76 per cent.

Award

Geetha Basavaraj, Principal of JSS Public School, Banashankari 2nd Stage, has received the "CBSE Award for Teacher of the Year." She was given the award in recognition of her contribution in the field of secondary education. The award was presented to Ms. Basavaraj in New Delhi by the Union Minister for Human Resources Development, Arjun Singh, recently. It includes a certificate of commendation and a cash prize of Rs. 25,000.

Re-examination

The Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) has decided to reconduct the examination of paper 2 (general paper) of PG entrance test for MD Unani courses on November 7 at 11 a.m., at Bangalore Medical College auditorium. All candidates who had attended the previous examination, except the lone candidate who has qualified, have been directed to appear for the examination. The candidates have to produce their admission tickets of the earlier examination. Candidates have been requested to visit the university website www.rguhs.ac.in or contact the Registrar for clarification.

Essay

The Media for Sustainable Development (MSD), a unit of CEE, is organising a state-level inter-collegiate essay competition on October 22 in urban development, ecotourism and environment degradation for final year under graduate and post graduate students.
