Heavy rain in Dharmapuri, Nagercoil

DHARMAPURI,
OCT. 17.
Heavy rain lashed parts of Dharmapuri on Saturday with Dharmapuri recording 64 mm.
The average rainfall recorded in other areas in the past 24 hours ending at 8.30 a.m. on Sunday is Harur 42 mm, Pennagaram 27 mm, Collectorate 37 mm, Dharmapuri town 64 mm, Palacode 15 mm and Pappireddipatti 4.2 mm.
The average rainfall recorded in Krishnagiri is Krishnagiri 7.8 mm, Nedungal 6.4 mm, Denkanikotta 50 mm, Tali 11 mm, Rayakottai 76 mm, Anjetti 22 mm, Barur 3.8 mm and Bengondapuram 29.6 mm.

Nagercoil district witnessed heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning on Sunday.
The present rain and comfortable storage in the Pechipparai, Perunchani, Chittar I and Chittar II dams would benefit farmers in the tail end areas of the district, including Anjugramam, Variyur, Rasthakadu, Mettukudiyruppu and Azagappapuram to undertake agriculture operations during the Kumbapoov season.
