Prakash's stand on BJP criticised

By Our Staff Correspondent

DAVANAGERE, OCT. 17. Ramalu, MLA from Bellary, has said that M.P. Prakash, Minister for Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs, was an "opportunistic politician." He said that Mr. Prakash had once campaigned for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), as according to him (Mr. Prakash), it was a party of principles.

Speaking to presspersons at Harpanahalli on Sunday, the MLA said that Mr. Prakash, who had once launched a tirade against the Congress, had agreed to join hands with the party to form a coalition Government in the State. He also predicted that the coalition Government would fall before the next Ministry expansion.

Mr. Ramalu said that off late Mr. Prakash had started describing the BJP as a communal party contradicting his own statement, thereby proving that he was an opportunistic politician. He was trying to get the support of Muslim voters by doing so.

He said that he was confident about BJP winning in the byelections to the local bodies in all the constituencies at Harpanahalli, Hospet, and Kudligi.

Arundi Nagaraj, president of the BJP's Harpanahalli taluk unit, Ramesh, Rajashekar Poojar and other BJP leaders were present.
