`No inner-party democracy' in DMK
By Our Staff Reporter
MADURAI,
OCT. 17.
Pasumpon Pandian, a lawyer recently expelled from the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), has alleged that there is no inner-party democracy.
Talking to reporters here yesterday, he said he was expelled only because he sought a CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) probe into the murder of former Minister T. Kiruttinan. Every party man expected DMK chief Karunanidhi to unveil a portrait of the slain leader at party conferences held at Virudhunagar and Salem.
Mr. Pasumpon said he, along with like-minded people in the party, would unveil a portrait of T. Kiruttinan, at a conference to be held in January.
Alleging that Mr. Karunanidhi was promoting "family interests," he said if the party president did not mend his ways, his followers would show him the black flag whenever he visited the southern districts.
