Excise policy: VS writes to Chandy

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM,
OCT. 18.
The Leader of the Opposition, V. S. Achuthanandan, today dubbed the Oommen Chandy Government's new excise policy as a `colossal betrayal of the people of the State'.
In a letter sent to the Chief Minister, he asked how a Government that had come to power claiming complete prohibition as its ultimate aim could now come up with a policy targeted to plunge the State deep in liquor.
