BANGALORE, OCT. 18. Sahyadari Hockey Club crafted a 5-1 victory over MICO (Nagnathpura) in the State `C' division hockey tournament underway at the KSHA stadium. Sanjay Kumar (6th and 18th) and Vincent Farias (34th and 38th) scored a brace each while K.N. Anand slotted home the other goal in the 11th minute. MICO's sole success came in the 15th minute when K.L. Suresh scored. In another match, University of Agricultural Sciences defeated Bagalkot Hockey Club 4-1. Ambarish Chabi put Bagalkot ahead in the 21st minute off a corner conversion but after that UAS held sway. Appachu scored first off a penalty corner (23rd) after which K.D. Ganapathy and C.M. Ganapathy scored in the 32nd and 50th minutes. Rupesh rounded off the tally in the 54th minute for UAS. In the third fixture, Vasu Hockey Club (Hubli) beat New Ashoka 4-1. Parshram (10th), Maruthi Bellary (34, 43rd) and Praveen (47th) scored for Vasu while Santosh Vimal reduced the margin for New Ashoka.
