Vizag lifts trophy
VISAKHAPATNAM,
OCT. 18.
Visakhapatnam has won the ACA North Zone under 17 Matrix Labs GSS Ramachandra Raju Trophy.
In the final league match against Vizianagaram at the Vizzy Stadium in Vizianagaram on Monday, Visakhapatnam won by an innings and 60 runs. Off-spinners Niyamatulla and GVS Prasad wrecked the rival which was all out for 90 in the second innings.
In another league match on the concluding day of the tournament at Vizianagaram, East Godavari defeated Srikakulam by eight wickets.
The scores: Vizianagaram 57 and 90 (Niamatulla five for 23) lost to Visakhapatnam 207 for five decl.
Srikakulam 131 and 68 (B. Divitej four for 20) lost to East Godavari 161 (Ch. Umasrikanth 77) and 39 for two.
